Lizz Lipscombe – Sponsored by Harwich Town Council

1:00pm. St Nicholas Church. Free Entry/Retiring Collection

Lizz was classically trained and spent 5 years at the Royal Academy of Music (London) before completing an Honours and Master’s degree at the University of Sheffield.

With a love of Jazz & Blues improvisation and theatrical performances, her playing now takes her from intimate to international, travelling worldwide as part of the vivacious violin duo ‘Elektra’.

As a soloist Lizz demonstrates the virtuosity of the violin spanning styles of Classical, Jazz, Tango, Folk & Blues.  She beautifully explores the extensive capabilities of tone quality from this wonderful instrument, an unexpected musical treat.

Her most prestigious moments over the last few years include performing and recording with Smokey Robinson, Richard Hawley, Newton Faulkner and Peter Gabriel.  Playing live on BBC2 radio with Bob Harris and on TV for ‘Des and Mel’, ‘Songs of Praise’ and ‘Later… with Jools Holland’ and performing for Bill Gates and friends at the London Olympics.
