Gala Film Night

with Anton Lukoszevieze – Cello

TWO WONDERFUL FILMS IN ONE EVENING…

6.15pm – Gala Reception

7.30pm – ‘The Shore’, Oscar Award for the best short film 2012

Prize-winning film ‘The Shore’ is the inspiring story of two boyhood best friends whose world and friendship is shattered by the escalating conflict in Northern Ireland. Their lives take very different paths, and when they do meet again after 25 years, they discover just what happened all those years ago.

8.15pm – ‘Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors’

A rare chance to see this strange and compellingly beautiful film by Sergei Paradjanov. Set against the existing dialogue and musical score is a live performance by Anton Lukoszevieze whose cello sets up a counterpoint with the images and sounds of the film leading us into a mysterious, often harsh yet dreamlike place. A thought-provoking experience which will stay with you forever…
