One of the most exciting and dynamic harpists in the UK, Alina Bzhezhinska studied at the F Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw and the University of Arizona. She has performed with many major European orchestras including the Young World Symphony Orchestra, the National Opera in Warsaw and the Scottish Opera. She has had the honour of playing at the European Parliament, the Queen’s 80th birthday celebrations in Balmoral and for the King of Thailand. Moving into jazz, she has played with such luminaries as Django Bates and Shabaka Hutchings and performed at the Royal Albert Hall, Globe Theatre and Ronnie Scott’s. At the 2017 London Jazz Festival she was part of a triple bill with legendary saxophonist Pharaoh Sanders which was nominated for Jazz FM’s Best Live Performance Of The Year. In 2018 Alina released her highly-acclaimed CD Inspiration in tribute to jazz harpists Alice Coltrane and Dorothy Ashby. Her latest project the Hip-Harp Collective pays homage to some of jazz, funk and hip-hop’s greatest innovators. Alina will be drawing on all this for a special solo programme for HF20 from her home in London.

The Digital HF has been launched in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and aims to continue to support Artists and the wider community through the continued delivery of art and cultural activities. In these difficult times the Harwich Festival relies heavily on funding and donations.
