HFK promotions launches as ‘New Town Kings’ make Harwich debut.

HFK promotions, a collaboration between The Harwich Festival of the Arts and Kingsway Hall, is set to launch on 30th May at the Kingsway Hall with the well known ska/reggae band ‘the New Town Kings’, making their Harwich debut and set to headline.

‘Hailing from New Town, Colchester – the New Town Kings’ modern twist on classic Jamaican music has seen them tour the country and play with the likes of The Skints, Gentlemen’s Dub Club and US reggae legends The Aggrolites to name a few. The nine-piece have rarely taken it easy it when it comes to travelling the world with their own brand of ska, having clocked up over 500 shows across 10 different countries since their formation. Their punk-rock ethic and extensive touring schedule has seen them perform at the likes of Boomtown Fair, Secret Garden Party, The HMV Forum and a whole host more – and the New Town Kings tour bus shows no sign of slowing down with further plans in progress for 2015.’

“Nice work from the New Town Kings…the best of Brit reggae” – David Rodigan MBE, BBC Radio 1Xtra.

Support acts SURGE (https://www.facebook.com/officialSURGE/info?tab=page_info)    and Shooty and the Bang Bang (https://www.facebook.com/shootyandthebangbang?fref=ts)  complete the bill.

Advanced tickets are selling well and people are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.

Harwich Festival Administrator Michael Offord says that ‘HFK is very much a collaboration aiming to bring varied and popular entertainment to Harwich all year round and at a reasonable price. ‘

Mark Young of Kingsway Hall said ‘to launch HFK promotions with the New Town Kings, arguably one of the biggest bands in the region, really signifies our intent to deliver the best quality entertainment to Harwich. I’m thrilled to be working alongside the Harwich Festival in order to make it happen’
