The Harwich Arts and Hertiage Centre and New Heritage Solutions have collaborated to offer school pupils and their families a fun science resource whilst they are stuck at home this summer. As part of the National Curriculum, Year 6 science students are asked to explore how light travels by making a periscope. Working with New Heritage Solutions based in Norwich, the Harwich Festival has posted written and (coming soon) video guides to doing this on its website. The material was pulled together from the National Lottery funded Surrender to Sanctuary project which worked around the Harwich Haven until earlier this year and marked the centenary of the surrender of the German U Boat fleet in 1918.
